Hi Guys I have an AMD 1. 4 GHz w/ ECS K7S5A. I have Windows XP. It doesn't response very fast. Consider it would take 5-10 secs to open in My Computer or Control Panel. I looked into it and found this out.

Hello there! How can I start some proggy (ISDN Monitor) when my computers starts? I need to start it before anyone logs in. . . I found this useful function in Sheduled Tasks that task can start when my computer starts (At system startup).

Xp drivers for Fasttrak66?

I've got one system to work properly with XP and a FT66, didn't have to load any new drivers or anything, but another system refuses to let me install XP on it with the FT66. It gives me the standard can't find hard drive error in install, no matter what I do.

I cant get Windows Installer to work properly on my XP pro system. Everytime i try to install a program that uses Windows Installer, IT says could not access Windows Installer Service. This may be caused by running in safe mode, or if Windows Installer is incorrectly installed.

Hello! I am runing Norton Antivirus 2002 on Windows XP and I had Disabled Auto Protect feature. So I get infected by a W32. Wierd(gen1) Virus. I tried to turn autoprotect ON, but it just generated some errors, so I reinstalled NAV2002.

When i try to start up my pc it loads up the winXP screen but then blue screens and says something along the lines of there being a memory dump in @c:\windows\system32\config\software@ any1 got an ideas? Ive tryed reformating but it does the same thing after a couple of days!

Edit: Found the patch. However, it's not working as expected. I thought it would work like zipmagic, generatering REAL folders. It works just like any other zip-Program, a window with the zip file's contents popping up.

Hi Does anybody know if its possible to set the level of Digital Vibrance on a per application basis ? E. g I like DVC off when using my regular desktop but I'd like it to come on automatically when I play Quake3, Unreal Tornament etc.

Can I change the default explorer window size? All I want is when I open my computer or my documents it is a wide rectangle (700x325 pixels) instead of a big square. Opening and setting the size and then close it does work, but only for some time.

i have this problem. . . on client computers, i always have 2 passwords in the shared drives, one is for sharing only and another is for full access. . . i browsed client computers and i accidentally input my share only password.

Hi all, I have a NT 4. 0 PDc running in our network. Recently, we acquire a 2000 svr. I plan to install Active Directory because I need to install SQL 2000 on it. I understand that once the W2k svr with AD is up , the users will have problems authenticating with the network because NT 4.

Weird stuff going on! XP keeps "losing" my graphic

This is driving me crazy. All of a sudden, often when I boot into windows the graphics is set to 4bit color and 800x600. When I check the display properties is says Default monitor on In the device manager the GF3 card says is unable to start - Code 10 From there it can be time consuming to get it back to normal.

Sorry, Should have got back sooner. I managed to locate the proper software for the device (external hard drive housing, connected to standard parallel port. ) I did find, however, that certain hard drives don't work very well with it.

k, this is not really a XP problem but i figured i'd get more replies here instead. here's the problem: We have 5 machinese on a small peer2peer network at work. We just purchased a new box and for some strange reason, it's not able to communicate with 2 of the pcs that are on the 10mbps hub.

Can't see NT server with XP Pro workstation

I recently inherited a NT Server network and am trying to connect to it with Windows XP Pro. The XP box uses static TCP/IP protocol to connect to the internet. Previously I connected to the server as a workgroup using Netbeui, which is also installed on the server.

I don't know when/why it happened, but it has. Nothing serious, just a tad frustrating. There are a couple places on my web site that require authorization, and now for some reason it is blocking out everybody with access.
