CDROM Problem

Hi Guys, I have CD ROM that was working perfectly with Windows XP. Suddenly today something happened and there is the yellow exclaimation marks in Device Manager. It says Windows cannot load the deive driver for htis hardware.

Under NT4 and 2000 you could create a rescue disk and backup the registry can I still do this in XP? I checked Administrative Tools and Backup and couldn't find it. .

cd burning=corrupt instalation file???

when i try to check cd i get corrupt instalation file it says burned sucesfully??? I got XP (processor & os, hehehe)kr7a-raid, via4in1+agp4. 10, plexwriter 24/10/40a, latest version of clone cd and nero and im completely clueless.

Hi, I repaired my XP a while ago (some Via 4-in-one driver killed it) after repairing the windows update broke. . . He keeps finding the SAME critical update. . . after installing (succesfully) and rebooting, it finds the same again.

End Task Timeout Dialog

I leave Outlook open all the time & when i shutdown the comptuer the End Take Dialog comes up saying that the program isnt responding (becuase outlook uses winword). But this end task dialog used to have a coutdown thing on it so after about 20 seconds it would automatcally End the Task & continue.

I activated windows immediately upon installing. But now i get message on my taskbar counting down days left to activate. So I click the little set of keys and up comes a blank screen and nothing loads, so I wait still nothing loads in the window.

OpenGL games lock on exit.

I have built 2462 and have tried quite a few different video drivers, both Quake 3 and CS lock my PC sometimes when I quit the game. . . both are OpenGL, I havent seemed to have this problem with D3D.

Im using ICS to share my broadband connection, im using a USB DSL modem. Ive setup AD, DHCP and DNS, but clients cannot resolve external names, but can ping external IP addresses. Im guessing i need to setup another DNS server for external name resolution and one for internal network names.

D3D is screwed up when using 2 cpus

hello all, this prob just puzzles me. i have an asus p2b-ds, dual p3-550. when i run XP with just 1 cpu, everything is ok. when i put the 2nd one in, D3D just messes up. i have the Hercules Geforce256 ddr-dvi with 32mb agp.

ok, i recently had my 5400RPM Seagate U series 5 Harddrive fail alltogether. Its currently at the shop and i will be getting a new one on monday. Is it worth paying £22 extra to replace it for a 7200RPM or is there not much difference in this? Thankyou AMD1.
