Windows 2000 performance?

Has anyone ever heard of Windows 2000 slowing the performance of new high end systems (compared to 9x)? I just built my new system and have dual-boot 2000/98 on the same partition. 2000 is nowhere close to as fast as I expected it to be on this system, 98 is much faster but I prefer 2000 for the stability.

Hi Guys Just installed the new VS, and after half an hour can't seem to know how to compile a simple. c file. no compile button, no execute button. Read quite a lot of help dont understand. Help! Thanks.

Hi, I have installed windows XP pro. When i check the space available on the drive, 1 Go is missing. after the installation more than 2 go are used. and when i check the size of all the file it is less than 1 Go.

I need to get hold of a USB external HD for work. The ones I've seen at good prices are all listed as USB 2. All of the PC's here at work have USB 1 or USB 1. 1 ports. Will a USB 2 device work in a USB 1.

Athlon XP on a board that only supports 200Mhz Athlon Thunde

I need to check my Athlon XP 1700+ CPU to make sure that it hasnt burnt out or anything when my ASUS Board went on me. I have a Gigabyte 71XE4 that only supports 200Mhz Athlon Thunderbirds and was wondering if the baord would boot to bios or anything with the Athlon XP in so i can check that it still works? Thanx guyz.

Me and my friend have a problem whit Red Alert1 think the best C&C ever but the problem we were trying to play Red Alert by Lan but other computer could not find the other IPX is istalled and we tryed to run Red Alert on win 2000 compatibility mode and 95 Red Alert it self worked but network.

I currently have a Diamond Viper TNT2 Ultra V770 for 2D and a voodoo2 for my 3D. Im thinking about gettin a Geforce4. If i bought the cheapest G4 which is about 120$, would it have better 2D quality than my Viper? I already know it should be better 3D than my voodoo2.

I need the date format to be in UK format eg. 15/03/2002. I have setup the regional settings for the date and time which all appear to work but if I request the date using ASP it displays it as 3/15/02 Where am I going wrong? there must be something I have missed.

I'm using the above motherboard with an athlon xp 1700 which has a default voltage of 1. 75 V. When i set my bios at the value of 1. 75 the msi PC alert 3 software detects the cpu only runs at 1,67 V.

Hello! I have tried to set the mail size on the mailboxes for the Nt users. The incomming and outgoing limit works ok, but when i set up for warning it doesn´t. Not prohibit send and prohibit send and receive in the store limit is working.
