Received the follow messages:
1) All works fine EXCEPT zoom w/ mouse function using a Logitech Trackman Marble. Could be a driver issue under 2K as when tested in 98SE the zoom command worked fine. Game is also 25% slower to load in 2K (SP1, DirectX 8.0a) compared to SE.
2) Working perfectly - Win2k SP 1.1, P3 866, Radeon 64
3) Works well under Windows 2000 SP1...tested under 1GHz AMD system.
3) Two different Win2K machines, both with DVD drives, different video/sound card combos. Game installs fine on both. When trying to run it, splash screen comes up, then exits, no messages. Looking through Event Viewer reveals "The device, DeviceCdRom0, has a bad block." Possibly an incompatibility with the copy protection on the CDROM, and DVD drives? (Haven't been able to test under other OSes yet)
4) On my PC (P3-800, Geforce 2MX, 320Mb RAM) the game crashes during the tips at the start of the game. EA and Lionhead admit that there is a problem and there is no fix as yet.
5) Works just fine, claims compatibility on the box.
6) Works extremely well. Only glitch is zooming with the mouse wheel does not work with a Logitech Cordless Mouse either. I wonder if Logitech mice are only effected.
7) Works great under Win2k SP1, GeForce2, 7.58 drivers.
8) Finally got the game working after changing CD drive letter from Z: to E:
9) I'm the one who reported that Black & White wasn't working under two different Win2K machines, both with DVD drives. I FINALLY heard something back from EA:
<i>Hello Greg,
Thank you for sending your concerns regarding Black and White.
What you are experiencing is something that has been occurring with a number of Windows 2000 users. It appears that this is caused by a difficulty reading a portion of the CD due to the way Windows 2000 has configured your CDROM drive. This issue is one that Lionhead is currently working to address. We anticipate a fix to become available sometime soon. I apologize for the inconvenience that this may be causing you. You may wish to return the game until the fix becomes available. We do not issue refunds directly, however we can exchange your game for a sealed copy that you can return to the store from which it was purchased. Send the entire game (CD ROM and packaging) along with a copy of the receipt, a return address, daytime phone number, and a brief note explaining your situation to:
Electronic Arts Customer Warranty
PO Box 9025
Redwood City CA, 94065-9025
An exchange for a sealed copy must be sent within 90 days of the original purchase. Any further questions regarding our warranty policy should be sent to cswarranty@ea.com.
Again, I apologize for the difficulty you are experiencing and hope to see a resolution soon.

Thank you for contacting EA Online Technical Support.

10) Athlon 1Ghz @1150, Videologic Sonic Fury, Asus A7V133, GeF2 Ultra 7.59, Win2k NO SP, Directx 8.1 & 8.0a Random lock ups with sound looping, works fine otherwise - I have logitech pilot wheelmouse optical and have no problems with zoom.
11) Works fine on my system. Voodoo5 1.04.00 drivers, SB Live!, Creative DVD 8x, Logitech opical. To fix the problems with the mouse wheel, add this key using regedit "MouseHookDLLEnable"="0"
12) Athlon T-Bird 700, 256 ram, Geforce 2 MX. crashes during "Tip Of The Day". no fix yet.
13) for those people that can't get it working with Geforce 2 MX, something's messed up in your registry, one of my friends gave me this RegSetup program that puts a new registry and it started working all of a sudden. Try messing around in setup also.
14) Win 2K SP2 GeForce 2 GTS, Dx8 (latest release of both) I get the same problem Greg had... bad block from the cdrom drive and the game aborts (quietly) after the splash screen. The difference is when I called EA tech support, the guy helping me had no idea why this didn't work.
15) No problems on Win2K Pro SP2
