Config.sys on ME?

Why is it that i cannot make any changes on config. sys on ME? when I make changes, after booting it restore to the original one. Is there anyway that i can make change it?.

Does it have anything to do with the restore feature on the registry? Maybe try to work around that, this is just a guess mind you.
