I just got a Abit KT7a and was wondering what people thought about using the VIA 4in1 drivers are they good? Bad? what? I will be using them on WinXP so keep that in mind too plz. Thanks.

Hmm it seems to me that you all think it can just be done in the registry. . . well some can but alot cannot. specially with shellswaps and ****. We have so many tweaks bout over 200 and counting that all im doin is making it easy on you all to tweak your system.

Does anyone know the correct voltage for a Thunderbird 1ghz 200mhz fsb? I thought that I saw an article that said it should be 1. 75. My voltage is 1. 63 right now. .

Odd problem with videocard

I've got an old Pentium II 350 with a savage4 card in it. When I start the computer the videocard doesn't turn on the monitor. The problem get's solved by oppening the case and wiggeling the card and then starting the computer.

Zip 650 USB CD-RW=WTF!?!?!

Someone help me out here. Okay, my main system is having problems recording audio and other stuff onto CD-Rs but doesnt hiccup at all when recording to CD-RWs. Regardless of being audio or data cd's, it still puts out a buffer underrun problem, and gives me another coaster.

Win2k Pagefile ?

One of the things about Win2k that I've been trying to understand is how its pagefile is reported under task manager. I currently have 384 megs of RAM and I have my swapfile set to 20 megs, down from the 250 megs I originally set it at.

Whistler Beta 2 + G400 + OpenGl = 60 Hz

Hi, Whistler has a built in driver for the Matrox G400 graphics adapter, i have set the refresh frequency to 85Hz, but it drops to 60Hz when using openGl and to 75Hz when using Direct3d. I installed the win 2000 G400 drivers - but they also don't allow setting a higher refresh rate.

On the whole XP validation issue I wonder if MS has another trick in mind. What happens when the forces that be at MS decide that they don't want people running XP anymore (ie time to buy a new OS again)? Will they shut down the validation sysytem? Can they shut off exisit validations (5 year life?).

I do not know if it is audiogalaxy or if it is webhancer that comes with it but i have found that these programs sucessfully BREAK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION. I will do some more digging and see if i can't figure out which specific program it is.

Best ways to benchmark/stress test 3 modems?

I have 3 hardware 56k/v90 modems that I want to benchmark/stress test. Are there any programs out similar to winbench or 3dmark but for modem testing? If not what is the best way to do this?.

OK, I moved one of my SCSI drives from an external enclosure into my computer. After restarting the machine, I was having trouble connecting with my modem, so I did the first thing I always do when I have modem problems: I hit speakerphone on my desk phone and listen to the line as I try to dial-up.

I have recently put Win XP on my system and I have only come to realise how slow win2k is in gaming. In 3dmark 2001, I got 730marks 1024, 16bit. In Win XP, this score went to 2400marks. Likewise, in Counterstrike, win2k's framerate will only hit 60fps (refresh rate) when I look into a corner, and can drop to below ...

Win2k Event Errors

Just recently I've been receiving error messages in my application and system event logs when I reboot my computer under Win2k. The first error is an application error caused by WinMgmt that says, WMI ADAP was unable to load the the winspool.

Gamespy Arcade Locks Up When Launching Game in Whistler 2463

I have Whistler 2463 and Gamespy Arcade 1. 07c, whenever I try to launch a game in Gamespy Arcade, it just sits there looking stupid at me and wont launch the game. I have to close down the program (Gamespy Arcade).

Hi, I just installed service pack one, and now windows doesn't power off my machine when it shuts down anymore. It's really just an annoyance, but if anyone has any ideas for fixing this, that would be great thanks.
