HighPoint Drivers?

Someone a while back mentioned that the 1. 21 drivers work better with windows 2000 over the newest 1. 22 drivers. Anyone find this to be true? I am currently running 1. 21, thinking of moving to the 1.

DX7 Stress tests (3D Mark 2000).

I'm very suspicious of a) my nVidia 3. 78 drivers for a Geforce DDR DirectX 7 on Win2K in general. I've tried running the 3D Mark 2000 demo and benchmark loops as stress tests. . . but they're too stressful for my box, which gives out after about 15-30 mins (these ran indefinately on Win98).

Windows 2000 Loves IRQ-9

Hi all, I have a system that for some reason likes to assign all my devices the same IRQ. If in the bios i force the hardware to certain IRQ's, Windows still uses IRQ9 for all of these devices: Geforce DDR Vortex 2 (MX300) Realtek Network Card USB.

WarFTP, CuteFTP and Win2k : 80 kBytes/s limit

Here is my 2 cents. . . In my LAN, we experienced a few probs, with CuteFTP (2. x to 3. x), WarFTP 1. 71 and Win2k 2195. If someone running Win2k wanted to connect to a FTP server under WarFTP, uhe wasn't able to go over a 80kbytes/s limit (on a 100Mbps LAN).

Nvidia drivers and ALi or Via chipsets in win2k. any success

I have seen alot of people talking about drivers working and not working with different hardware setups and it seems that tnt/tnt2s with super7 mobos dont work. I was wondering if no one with this setup has got nvidia drivers to work, or if there are some people out there that do have win2k working.

Memory and Win2k

trying to get a feel on the optimum memory configuration for win2k. I just upgraded from 128 to 256meg and things definitely run better. Worth going any higher than 256?.

i740's D3D & win2k

hello. I installed win2k on my system and i saw there were standarddrivers for my i740 card, diamond's stealth II g460. but these doesnt support D3D. Can anyone tellme there are some new i740 drivers? thankx,.

Was working find under WIN2K build 2128. Updated to final and now get: This device could not start (Code 10). Irq and memory addresses have no confilicts. Uninstalled installed so many times, wearing out the drivers.

Ive been running windows 2k for about 2 months now and i love it, but im addicted to games and apparently interact isn't interested in putting out windows 2000 drivers for its products, any ideas how i can get my hammerhead fx working under win 2k? Thanks

This problem just started lately, upon booting up my spoolsv. exe crashes. . which is a bit of a problem, i cant add or access my printer. . . anyone know of a way to fix this. . thanks. . .

ok, after reading all these posts on how win2k rocks and I think its even faster then 98! posts that I've seen. . . I went ahead and made the jump. I did a clean install, installed all the drivers, and all seem to work well except for ALL my fav games.

Limit on HPT366 on the BP6?

Anyone know if there is a limit on the HPT366 controler? I just got a 40 gig drive and loaded win2k on it. . when i get all done and am rebooting. . . it just locks up. If I move it to the ata 33 controler it works.

Is there any way to enable dma on win2k for via chipset? I put dma if available,but it always set pio mode. Please help!!! via mvp3,k62450,80MbRam,pioneer dvd a03s 6x.

Just wanted to say for all of you people out there that insist on saying that Windows 2000 sucks, just follow what the topic says and you'll no longer be troubled by all of the stability of the operating system.
