In answer to your questions : 1. Yes, all stautus light indicate OKAY on the Cards and on the Switch. 2. No i havent tried board diagnostics. . . . dont think i have any! 3. I Havent tried anything but Auto.

Win2K --> Win98 T100 Networking Troubles

Hi all, i am new to this so please bare with me. I have been through all the previous networking messages but unfortunately nothing has been said to help me out?. . . . I have an 8 port Switch, running CAT5 cables to 3 computers (2 Win98 and 1 Win2k) All 3 computers are using Accton EN1207D Cards.

Win2k/98se sharing _was_ working....

Well I had sharing working partially (not completely) but now it doesn't work at all Computer #1 runs Win2k with a standard nic which came with NT50 drivers. Computer #2 runs Win98se with the same brand nic and proper win98 drivers.

LAN not working correctly

Hi all, ive got a bit of a problem. My pc (win2k) is hooked onto a LAN with 2 other pc's (one Win2k and one win98). Thing is, my LAN performance is like 1/8-th it was in the past. We run a 10Mbit LAN but i only get 100K/s to and from the other pc's.

IP sharing in Windows 2000?

Is there IP sharing in Windows 2000? I remember 98SE having that option. I can't seem to find it in Windows 2000. I only have two PCs running. Just wondering if there is anyway to enable this thanks guys.

A ICS question not found

Set Up: 2 computers, 1 98SE, 1 Win2k Pro win2k has 2 Network Cards 1 is connected to the dsl modem. 1 is connected to a not too great hub wich 98se can connect to. I need to give the 98Se box access to the DSL line (my ISP does through Mac address of the network card, and i dont want another ip (10$)).

DNS errors?heres helpful hint

if i get disconnected from my ISP and have to reconnect i get lots of DNS errors after i reconnect. so if anyone else has this problem or just wants to freshen the DNS cache (which may find a faster route to your favorite site) type this command at the cmd prompt: ipconfig /flushdns for more help type ipconfig /?.

W2K Server DHCP bug !!

I just read this one on the net yesterday. It seems that due to a bug, W2K Server cannot allocate more than 51 IP addresses using DHCP. It's quite sad. . . M$ spent 2 weeks trying to reproduce the issue, and when they finally figured it out, they decided to call it an issue, not a bug.

I have a 6 comp network. 4 comps are running win2k professional, 1 is running advanced server, and one is running win98 se. All five of the win2k computers can use the dsl line that the advanced server comp is connected to.

Ok heres my situation. I have 2 computers networked with a crossover cable and sygate for internet sharing. I was wondering if it were possible to run a dedicated quake3 server from the client machine and have other people access it so I can play on it too.

Slow network browsing!

Why does it take so long time for win2k pro, to browse the network? Have a 100 MBit network using tcp/ip and netbeui! It takes far more longer time than in win98/winnt4, with the same hardware. Does anyone have a suggestion?.
