Ok, I went against my word and installed the second beta version of DX8 for w2k, purly because I am dying to fix my sticking key problem in Mechwarrior 3 while playing it online under w2k. . . lol, Anyway.

resetting the way IE downloads ?

I was wondering if theres a way to reset the way IE downloads, I accidently clicked 'always open' or what ever it says, and now it only downloads to a temporary folder and I can't choose the location this is major pain.

Does anyone know of the direct download link for IE 5. 01 SP1. The links on all the sites take me to IE's website but all I see listed under the Downloads section is all the patches separate. Is there not a combined file with them all?.

McAfee VirusScan 4.5 - Does Yours Work Too ?

Yet another in a long line of dubious (and anonymous) 'reviews' graces the apps pages. I have twice installed McAfee VirusScan 4. 5 on my Win2K system without any problems at all and certainly with no worse a performance hit than 4.

How to stop disk check on startup ?

I try to convert my HD to NTFS from FAT32. PC say something about exclusive access and ask about did it after bootup. On bootup PC says unsufficient memory and do not convert my HD. Now each startut I have to see this f**king screen.

In windows 2k the print speeds are very bad due to the fact the print head sweeps accross the page every other second, I tried the latest 2k drivers and they dodn't help one bit so I went back to Windows 98 where the printer works perfectly.

I've recently been struggling with Windows 2000 to make it run to the best of its ability for my needs. Here are my problems/queries: OpenGL in Windows2000 leaves a little to be desired. I am an avid quake2/3/half life player and therefore OpenGL is very important to me.

win98/nt dual boot?

1-i put win98 (fat32) on the c 🙁seperate h-drive)master. 2-i put nt 4. 0 (fat) on d 🙁seperate h-drive)as a slave. 3-i boot up to win98. (no dual boot choice) 4-is there suppose to be a dual boot screen generated by nt on the c: drive? thanks,jw.
