PCinsight has posted a review on Analog Devices´ SoundMAX 2.0. It is another soft audio CODEC targeted for the value-market.

With SoundMAX 2.0, OEMs can offer 6 channel CNR solutions and features found only in expensive sound cards at a very low cost. SoundMAX 2.0 can exist as a basic 2-channel integrated solution or a multi-channel solution through CNR riser cards. In either case, consumers get much more than what they paid for.

ExamPC.com has posted a review on the AOpen CRW1232A 12x10x32 CDRW with Just Link Technology.

The first CDRWs were total "hogs" of system resources; while you were writing a CD, your computer was rendered useless. As technology has progressed, writing a CD now hardly takes any system resources at all, and with a decent computer, you can easily work on other applications while burning a CD in the background. However, the more resource-intensive the application you were using, the more likely your CD writing would be unsuccessful because of "buffer underrun" errors. Luckily, with the advent of such technologies as Just Link, present in AOpen´s CRW1232A, buffer underruns only occur in only the most rare circumstances.
