V3.co.uk published a story that VMware has unveiled its latest platforms for deploying and managing virtual workstations and helping firms finally make the move from Windows XP to Windows 7

The announcements aim to make it easier for end users to use desktop virtualisation across platforms and devices by giving IT better tools to handle end-users. That will simplify the move to Windows 7 for users currently stuck on XP machines, the company claimed.

"Goodbye Windows XP, hello Windows 7," said VMware vice president of product marketing and end-user computing Vittorio Viarengo from the stage at VMware.

VMware View systems integrated with Wanova Mirage's distributed desktop virtualisation architecture (DDV) allow users to remotely personalise their desktop environments.
