SB PCI128 (1370) Win XP Pro Problem

The default driver in XP Pro for SB PCI128 (ES1370) doesn't work for me. I've got scratching noise whenever I play any sound. I've searched this forum and I could only found solutions for Win2k Pro but not XP Pro.

IRQ8Priority=dword:00000001 At first I thougth was just another one thoses lame tweak so I take a shot in dark and try it what heck with all system problem I had last week let see what eles I can broke this week hehe but after run this a bit WoW I did see speed up in just everything.

A bit off topic, but does anyone now of a small utility that can go through my Favourites folder and test all my bookmarks to see if the sites still exist? Then I can select which ones to delete etc etc.

Network'd Printers...

In Windows XP on my PC I am using a networked printer on my girlfrieds Windows ME Machine. If I try and load up certain apps (ie Word and Photoshop 6) when her PC is switched off it crashes and does that report to Microsoft crap.

UPS question

Right now I have a 500VA UPS. Here is what I need to power to in the electricity goes out: 1 - computer w/ 250W power supply 1 - computer w/ 300w power supply 1 - 19 monitor 1 - cable modem 1 - 10/100 hub If I buy another 500VA UPS, would that be enough power to power everything?.

I liked the old style of how to view the computers in network neighborhood where it would just say that name of the computer. Now it puts the name of the user and then the computer name. . . got this today and found it kinda dull except that the screen savers are cool i think the xp power toyz are a much better upgrade for xp all in all the plus pack is kinda cool but i wouldn't suggest paying for it, i didn't

Added 2nd NIC, now 1st NIC gone!?

Hello. I was using a 3COM905B in my Win2K machine without problems. I added a 2nd NIC (3COM900B) & started my machine. Now I only see the newer NIC (as Local Area Connection 2) & my original NIC (formerly Local Area Connection 1) is gone (not showing in network properties).

Thrustmaster FF steering wheel in XP Pro

Hi, Has anyone got the Thrustmaster FF wheel working in XP Pro? I only have 98dvrs in the box (managed to find 2000 dvrs for USB), but would rather use serial connection if poss. Win XP will not install the wheel using the auto install.

Personally, Windows 98se. NT4 just lacked a few things, USB support, Games support, powers savings support. Was glad to leave the flakey 9X kernel to more robust NT kernel, with Windows9X harware & software support.

Annoying: The transparent icons built in XP

Yes very annoying. Have you tried using a wallpaper with most of it white ? Only thing you can see in the icon txt is shadows. How can I use for example black text with my wallpapers ? Or blue? PS: This must be the most annoying feature in WinXP I have found so far.
