Can anyone get tropico to work under WinXP? I have a freind that is trying to install Tropico and it wont let him even install it we have tried the compatability modes and nothing. If anyone knows how he can get it installed it would be greatly appreciated.

Aopen DVD drive

I've got an Aopen DVD drive on another box, and the weird thing is that it works fine with normal cd's and can even identify when there is a dvd in the drive, but it just can't play it. . . Any ideas short of getting a different drive?.

sorry if this appears 2x hi, thinking about buying a new card. But am leary, reading about a lot of problems on XP. So I need to be sure its gonna work well with xp. I have used 3DFX in the past. And was always happy with them.

I have read messages after messages, in this forum, regarding all the tweaks and hacks you guy are doing to get your systems networked. This has got to be totally un-necassary because my network was working flawlessly at one stage.

I have a box just clean installed XP Pro 2 days ago. I get this once during the installation and occationally during Windows. It boots up fine right into Windows (with autologon into an account already).

Takes about 2 minutes to do one thing on remote comp

When I access the remote server from any workstation it may take several minutes to do one operation such as directory list, rename file, open file. . . But does not do this all the time. Does anyone have any clue what the problem is or can help me narrow down the problem?.

Turning off Data CD Autoplay

WTF is MS doing, please tell me this. They used to have Data CDs listed as an option in the autoplay dialog when you right click on a cd-rom and hit properties, now its gone. I HATE DAMN AUTOPLAY!!!!! Any proggies that will get rid of data cd autoplay or the reg entry to do it?.
