Hi I don't like the new Welcome Screen logon so I use the 'classic' one and I would like to know how to set the theme/style for it? It’s normally the default XP style but I want it to be the same as my accounts style.

I have a server running NT4 with 4 users running Win98. I need to share Joe's private$ directory on the server with Bob. I tried adding a permission to Joe's directory with access available to Bob but I cannot see the share from Bob's PC.

SB Audigy issues in WinXP

Has anybody had the issue with the Audigy and WinXP where the sound is very choppy during certain game cinematics? I am having issues with choppy sound in Red Alert II and Civilization III, I have installed the update supplied by Creative as well.

I got windows XP preinstalled from DELL when i got my new computer. Since then, its been hell trying to live with XP. I have had some serious issues with games and hardware. But this one tops the list of microsoft screwups.

Kensington VideoCAM W2K firmware upgrade -> Shift back?

I was using WinME (don't laugh) until it completely crapped out after I got a new hard disk, and decided to upgrade to Win2000. According to all the stuff I've read here and at Kensington, I'll need to upgrade the firmware on a Win98 machine, but then I won't be able to use the camera on a Win98 machine again.

how do you change the format of date and time in the taskbar? my computer at home looks like this: 9:00 AM Tuesday 11/06/01 my computer at work looks like this: 9:00 AM when the mouse is over the time, it shows Tuesday, November 06, 2001 I would like to know how the change from format.

Hi I just installed XP on my Asus A7V motherboard. Installed newest VIA drivers, and NVIDIA 21. 85 drivers (Have tried other drivers also). The graphic card is a GF1, and I have a PCI128 soundcard using XP drivers.

task manager window messed up for Admin account...

I dont know what happened, but if I press Ctrl+Shift+Esc or Ctrl+Alt+DEl to get the security box and click on task manager for the Administrator account, all I get is a blank box with no window bars or anyway to close the window.

I am running Win2k and ICS. I need to know the port number that the ICS DHCP component uses. I have BlackIce on this box and when it is running, my other machines cannot get IP's from the machine that shares the connection.

I have two pesky files that refuse to be deleted/moved in normal or safe mode. Everytime I try, Windows says that they are being used by a program. Any ideas on how to get rid of them?.

Enemy Engaged Freaking Out in XP

Does anyone here play the game Enemy Engaged: Comanche vs. Hokum. I have a extremely weird problem with it in XP. When I am running the game in Free Flight mode, everything runs fine. When I play in campaign mode, everything is fine as long as I am playing Recon or Transfer type missions.

I always used my Mobile Nokia 6110 under Win98 and ME to upload and download my contacs via cable with the Nokia Data Suite. Now The NDS v. 20 don't works with XP so I upgraded to 3. 0 and then to 3.

Hi, it's Sting. I've installed the webcamera above and there wasn't problem until I unplugged (it's a photo-camera too) and plugged to upload my photos to windows. When I've plugged the web in the usb, Win Xp found a Uknown device and not the previous driver (Usb Logitech Clicksmart 310).

Im running Windows XP Final on my PC with a GameTheater XP. I have the drivers and it works fairly well. But the other day I was watching Me, Myself and Irene DivX/DVDrip and after about 20 mins the sound screwed up.
