I did a clean install of w2k and pressed (F5) installed it as ACPI sysem. . . must be xmas i thought not i had (stanby hibernate shutdown )& it all worked perfectly except i had lost my com ports bugger so if any knows how i can get them to work im all ears.

Win2k and DMA on a Maxtor 292720U8 HD

My computer. . . athlon 550 fic sd11 mb w/ bios nc608 64 mb ram 27. 2 gb 5400 rpm Maxtor hd running win2k For some reason win2k won't use dma mode on my hd, even though it does support it. I already checked use dma if available but it keeps using PIO.

Hey all - has anyone run across any newer drivers than the 3. 02a drivers from ? Sometimes Hauppauge will release prerelease drivers to fortunate consumers who bug them via email and I am hoping that a few of you are here <g>.

Hey all. I was wondering how to get the Winfast control panels under my display settings. I don't have any of the extra tabs like Output device, Gamma settings, etc. All I see is the basic Win2k ones.

Even since I installed Win2k RC2 my HD light has been pretending to be a power light. No flashing, nothing. It's on when my computer is on. It still works fine in Win98 however. Yesterday it was working in Win2k for a few hours which had me extremely confused, and now today it isn't again and I'm even more confused.

I just got this new motherboard. i installed it and when i went to boot win2k it frooze on the logo screen. . so i booted to safemode that worked. . i saw no errors. so i tried to reinstall win2k and it freezes EVERY time when it boots from the cd and goes to setup is starting windows 2000.

In games such Q2,Q3 and Unreal (Direct3D), in a interval between 2 and 15 minutes, the game freeze up. The Ctrl+Alt+supp doesn't work (access to task manager), so Windows 2000 is really out. I can only reboot.

i saw this in the event viewer: The ring buffer that stores incoming mouse data has overflowed (buffer size is configurable via the registry). after playing the devil inside game which in the front end menu the mouse cursor is always moving down like you were holding the down arrow key to scroll the menu.

AMD & Asus Geforce

I have been having major crash problems with any drivers released from Asus to use with my v6800 geforce ddr. all the drivers past 3. 66 crash in desktop. the 5. 13 drivers from Nvidia work fine. I was looking around the web for a reason why, and i came on onto a page for the Asus K7M motherboard.

Anyone made this working? Windows cannot detect the card and it has only two ? in device manager and the flyvideo program doesn't work in overlay mode. any ideas? thanks.

If you are having this problem please list your motherboard model revision and bios please. I have a FIC PA-2013 rev 2. 1 with the 115JI38 bios and running a Matrox G400 32 meg with latest win2k drivers.

I can't run Win2K for more than 5 minutes now. I think it's the video driver. . . the one that I've been using for weeks now without incident. How can I determine if something got corrupted? Will reinstalling Win2K solve this? *SIGH* Tony.

Update your video card drivers. How in the F*CK does anyone call this OS stable? Everything but 2D support goes to **** whenever (perhaps randomly would be a better word) you update video card drivers.

DVD on Win2000 final

I have a Gateway GP7-500 that came with a CD-ROM that also plays DVD disks. Having never tried a DVD on it even under Win 98, I'm not sure how they work. Should it play DVD's automatically or does it require special software and/or drivers? Does it require anything special under Win2000?.

Hi, I have a athlon cpu and a creative anhilator pro (geforce ddr) card. just last night i noticed that it is not running at agp2x but only at agp1x i was wondering as to how it can be changed so my geforce card takes advantage of agp2x thanks, chudy.

Hi everyone ! Do you know how to correct the problem i encountered with my Miro PC TV since i've downloaded and installed the driver studio 4. 0 (for w2k) In fact, it prevent win2k from entering hibernate mode i got a messagebox saying Studio PC TV prevents from entering entering hibernate mode , try to update.
