ok, heres the deal, i intalled win2k pro 2195 with 1 cpu installed cuz i was too lazy to fix the solder joint on my other cpu(yes i use slot 1 celerons, the REAL way to do SMP with celerons =p), i finally fixed it, plugged it in, bios detects 2 cpus fine, windows wont detect 2 cpus, i even did a reinstall and repair

Unable to read IO control information from NBT device. Thats what it says. I get this error on my bp6, thought it was just some error having to do with my hpt66 controller but i installed win2k on my friends gateway which most likely has an intel se440bx mobo and i still get the error.

US Robotics Winmodem, need help!!

I havent written in a while but havent had any real problems, anyway i installed win2k on a friends gateway. He ahs a us robotics winmodem and it works but only as a 28. 8 modem. The reason im complaining and asking for help is that it is really a 56k modem.

Hi All Got Win2000 RC2 Server with a 3Com US Robotics 56K (V90) Internal PCI Modem (model 2884). Works fine but I can't get any voice features from Talkworks 2. 0, it says the modem has no voice features.

Finally got V3 and Win2K to work!, how about WickedGL

I downloaded the drivers from: and followed the instructions and for the first time (since RC1 for me) my V3-2000 works for games in Windows 2000. I was beginning to think it never would. Anyway, does the WickedGL driver work in Win2K? I have been using it in Win98 for a while and have become used to it (it rocks).

When I try to execute a game using hw acceleration, windows keeps on giving me an odd error message (a small box actually saying ERROR). . . direct3d works fine (suprise suprise). . . Help!.

Hi all, Does anyone have a Guillemot Maxi Gamer Xentor 32 AGP (TNT2 Ultra) card installed under Windows2000? If so, what drivers are you using? What has you experience been with the Xentor32, Win2K and Drivers? Also, can someone please comment on whether Win2000 will ever have full D3D, OpenGL, and AGP support.

Who knows a trick how to connect a SONY DSC-F505 digital still camera with usb under w2k. The drivers from SONY are only for Windows 98. My requests to SONY for a w2k driver are not heard. Maybe if I ask the question in Japanese.

My friend has 2 voodoo 2's and tried running them in SLI using the hacked NT 4 drivers. Is anyone else using 2 voodoo 2's in SLI mode. Give me some feedback here if they work or dont work. Thx =).

Just in case people aren't being specific, I thought I'd post this little diddy I found on the board. You can get the 3dfx beta drivers that fix your opengl issue at: I'm grabbing them as we speak, and if they don't work, I'll let you know via the board.

I've noticed something strange about installing printers in W2k: If I attach the printer to the W2K box, it installs and sets up just fine; if I attach that same printer to another computer on a network and try to connect to it, I get a browse box that is looking for an *.

Win2K Final + TNT2 (Viper 770) Please help!

Does anyone know what the latest drivers are for a Viper 770 (TNT2) that work with Win2K? I just finished installing Final and the latest drivers I got were 3. 64 from betaos. com. Is this the latest? It seems to work fine with UT (haven't tried anything else).

I upgraded from win98 se. I have ran this version of win2k on my machine before and had glide/ogl working. I got a new hd and decided to upgrade the system back to win2k, and can not get my voodoo 3 to work with glide/ogl.

I have never been able to get the mic working in Win2k in any build, and am wondering if Microsoft just doesn't know how to make the drivers for my card or what. If anyone has any ideas as to how I may get my mic working, I'd be much oblidged.

After a few (under-exageration) installations of the beta win2k i have a few findings: Viatech mvp3's bios isn't ACPI friendly, the result is all PCI devices on the same IRQ, the com port and lpt bios routings have been destroyed.

Tried playing Tombraider the Last Revelation but gave me an error when trying to play it. . . are there some better drivers that can be used for my video card or is there something else that I have to do to get this game to work.
