HOW BIG SHOULD THE SWAP FILE BE ??

i have a p3 500 with 384 mb of ram. even with that much ram w2000 makes a swap file sized 550 mb !!!! do i need a file that big or can/should i make it smaller ???? under nt4 i used the programm superdisk to create a virtual swap drive of 100 mb in ram is this also possible under w2000 ??.

hi again i have a 3com USR message modem and i noticed ever since yesterday (31st march) download speeds were as low as above 200 bytes/s it would start very fast like 9kb then drop a lot. max i have had is 500b/s and as u can tell i am not pleased! port speeds in ctrl panel are at its highest.

I encountered a strange problem since i installed Liveware for w2000, indeed the install is running correctly but when i reboot to valid changes, the system crashes and reboot just after the log box ! DVD in Win2k causes lockup

I have Windows 2000 Pro installed. everything works except my DVD-ROM. it's a DRDVD840. . . (Digital Research) when ever go to use the drive for anything it causes an entire system crash. . . It's slave on my secondary UDMA/66 controller.

I had older drivers that were working, albiet with some odd problems, but working none the less. I installed the 5. 13 det drivers, which worked for a while, but stopped. I have no idea why. The renderer reverts to the Microsoft DLL, but, oddly enough, Quake 3 will still run.

Canon 5100 BJC print driver issue?

Has anyone had any success using this printer with W2K, I cannot get the drivers for NT4 to install, and don't know what other drivers to use to emulate. All help is appreciated. I would assume that there are drivers for this thing somewhere, its a brand new printer model.

I have a NEC 24x CDROM which supposedly supports DMA, yet win2k always reports using PIO. (I DID select Use DMA if available) Any ideas?.

Does anyone know if there is any way to make the STB Desktop TV card work in Windows 2000? It is now supported by 3dfx, so if anyone knows of some beta drivers or some kind of hack, I would love to know.

Win2k crashes with new 5.13 drivers?!

Am I the only one who is having this experience. . After about 15 to 20 minutes my system crashes, not to BSOD but to som strange resolution mode where i can't do nothing!! By strange resolution i mean, my mouse pointer is half the screen in height and really thin.

Hello!!! My system: P2 celeron dual 500 Voodoo 3500 Beta 2 w2k drivers 128 megg ram!! Well, now I have tested w2k up against w98SE. I realize that W98SE still have the best performance in games since Voodoo don't support smp in 3d.

After i've installed the ati driver for my rage fury 32 mo (it works quite well), my system began to hang on (the mouse do not move - CTRL ALT SUPPR didn't respond), so i just could reboot (first w2k crash 8) ) but i was surprised when the same happened 10 minutes later ! Are there known problems with ATI drivers? ...

w2k DMA freezes startup on biostar mobo.

PIO mode suX0rz. But when i enable udma for any of my drives windows freezes duing startup at the white screen. in my bios i have it set to auto detect the mode. my mobo i think is causing the problem.

MS Sidewinder 3D Pro + w2k

Anyone got any ideas how I can make this joystick work in windows2000? My joystick port is on a vortex2 soundcard which seems to be working fine, but the OS refuses to recognise the joystick. Strikes me as odd (or should that be ironic?) that MS don't support their own hardware in their new flagship OS.

I just threw in a brand new 20. 5 gig deskstar from ibm. its a fat32 format, 1 big partition, and I wanted to upgrade to a dynamic drive so I can commence with software stripping. I dont have my second disk in there, but I jsut wanted to see what a dynamic drive is like.

Has anybody tried using the new dxr3 drivers that was having trouble w/ the old ones? They do say it doesn't support win2k but I doubt that would keep people from trying anyway. .
