DirectCD... doesn't install

I got the Easy CD Creator 4 FULL. . . but when I run the DirectCD installer, it says it's not compatible with Win2k. . . What should I do?.

Hard freeze with win2000

My computer seems to freeze at random times with no error log record. NT does not even know that something has happened. Mouse and keyboard stop responding. power off is the only fix. . . sd-11 athlon 600 256 ram geforce mx300.

Hey, if you're a student, dont you know that it is possible to buy win2k at a great discount? At least that was what I did. Just a tip, not that i help your problem right now and of course even a little money can be tough to get, depending on your level of poorness.

SAM failed to start....

Hi. . . when i login to win2k and check the event viewer, in system log always there is the mark that SAM failed to start the TCP/IP or SPX/IPX listening thread. Can someone plz tell me how to fix this problem? tks.

win98 and win2k on two different partitions

I have two partitions on my hd. In the first i'm using win98SE, in the second i use Win2k. I'm choosing between the two OS with the boot loader of win2k. If I should reinstall win98SE, I guess I should lose the dual boot, because the install process could do a sort of sys C:.

pls help me to fix ICQ

i wondering what the hell is up w/ my icq account. . . getting the incorrect password error, even though im typing the right one in, on connection. getting the common e-mail does not exist when requesting my password though i entered my e-mail well over 4 years ago and never have touched my icq info settings.

Nero 5.0 doesn't work

I have installed Nero 5. 0 over 4. 0. 9. 1 and it does nothing but error out when run. 4. 0. 9. 1 works perfectly, but Nero 5. 0 does not start at all it errors before anything. Any ideas?.

I have two files, one is a mpg and the other a dat both video files, they are both slightly larger than a 80min cd, tried winzip, still larger. is there a way I could change them to some other format that can be saved in a cdr plus not losing the image quality?.

On my present Temp. Setup (PII333@375, 128MB ram) ICQ 2000a tried to use 78MB of memory just to start, i know this isn't natural. My pagefile space was: Min. 320 Max:460. Im running windows 2000 Professional and i have installed IIS and have ftp and www servers running fine, I intend using the www server to test web pages as i work on them, for testing and others reasons i will have people wanting to conect to my computer to view the pages.

I've read about a software that makes applications and programs believe that they are running under another OS (w95, w98, nt - u actually choose the OS) while being in W2K. According to the infos, it's said to improve the compatibility of W2K with W95-98 intended programs.

Windows2000 System Disk?

How do you make a windows 2000 system disk?! I want to flash my motherboard bios so in order to do that i need a system disk. Format a:/s dont work for some reason and a windows98 system disk wont load on win2k.

how to go back to auto-refreshing pages in ie5 without pressing the refresh button? Seems i tweaked something and i don't find anything in tools>options to bring it back. . . (something like open ie each time in a seperate process : where is it?) thanks and sorry for the not-so-win2k-related.

Need some help with AVG 6.0 free edition antivirus

Ok It is really fine on my system but i notice that when i first load up win2k my cpu usage is beyween 39% and 100% and I hear the hard drive running. I am assuming that it is scanning some file at startup so I disabled resident shield but then I lose email scanning.
